Polyphon are the best known manufacturers of the disc musical box and their products encompass a wide range of disc sizes ranging from 6 inch up to 24,5 inches for the comb playing machines. A wide variety of case styles were available from small, plain table top disc players to grand and ornate centre pieces adorned with carvings, turnings and marquetry inlay. The following pages show the most popular disc sizes and the case varieties that contained the musical mechanism. Most of the following models are available as fully restored machines.
